I would hazard a guess to say its not the fact that the color of the tights is black but because your wearing tights and jumping around that they find funny - maybe that your starting ballet now instead of the usual young age - who knows but if you enjoy it forget it and just have fun - my daughter is doing first year ballet and they wear skin coloured tights and as they get older (I think about level 3 or 4) they start doing other dance styles and are required to wear black tights

Well, I used to be a ballet dancer and some of the things you have to wear and things people think you have to wear can be pretty dam funny but I wouldnt take it too serious. Im now a river dancer and things are pretty similer lol but as long as your enjoying it go for it. Good luck with your ballet : ) x

okay, this could mean that to other people that have seen you dress regularly ...and so the thought of your legs in tights might be a funnything to see. or

this could be that people think your legs look funny already so if you were to put them in tights even i would giggle.

or it could just be that they dont know how to react to that so they laugh. you cant expect everyone to have the same reaction or to encourage you in things YOU like.You like it you do it who cares realy what others think? give it 100 % and enjoy yourself and be proud of yourself that you are trying something out.
well, in most professional schools and traditionaly throughout history dancers wear pink tights for ballet class. Thats the usual uniform. They allow for teachers (and yourself) to see muscle tone or how the muscles are working in your legs.

And as for your friends mabey they are just immature or insecure. After all, it takes guts to do ballet and wear tights.
keep on dancing there is nothing sexier then a guy who can dance. and as for you frieds dont listen to them.
it isnt somethingg to laugh about, but i imagine it is because usually in ballet we wear pink/white tights because it is easier to see your legs in.
Well maybe because most tights are well pink, baby pink or white(rarely black). Just carry yourself with confidence and you'll be ahright! :)
