How do male ballet dancers get so toned?

Obviously they spend a lot of hours dancing, but they must do other things like hitting the weights or push-ups or something. What is their training regime?

I think dancing for many hours 6 days a week and lifting the girls would do it. Also they don't eat much.
lotsa male dancers are really strong in their legs just cuz its necessary for ballet...well thats wut i think at least...some may play other sports or they may just feel the need to work out sometimes?!? who knows....why dont u find one of those kinds of dancers and ask them...im sure they wont really know and theyl just tell u that they go to the gym a lot...thats my best guess
Ok I'm a female but I can tell you some of what I know about it.

When I was training at College we danced up to 15 hours a day... most days 6-8 hours of classes but it depended on extra cross training or just fun exercising or muck around let your hair down - or choreographic sessions/ performance/ rehearsals etc etc.

Yes the guys usually did Push ups and sit ups so did us girls and not just the girly versions but full on push ups and sit ups... hell I could do them one handed! But us girls used to sit on the guys backs sometimes to help them build their muscles...Side sit ups for your Lats and the guys trained with medicine balls too.

So a real variety of stuff, we only had Pas-De-Deaux class 2-3 times a week for about 1.5hours each so it wasn't lifting us that did it. Though it would have helped - but most of them could bench press twice our weight.
they work out to impress the girl ballerinas DUH
Besides dancing a TON, which is enough to get you pretty ripped, they also do weight training and some do Pilates, which is commonly taught at companies like NYCB and Ballet Chicago.
they work out....a lot
